Class A Long Haul Driver

If you know anything about the construction business, you know that getting the right products to the right site on time and safely is the benchmark of success. It is both challenging and rewarding work. We are a distributor of construction materials that supplies roofing, building envelope, and below grade materials. We want folks with great people skills on our team because, in the end – people make all the difference.

We’ are looking for self-sufficient, motivated Class A long haul Driver for our Spokane location on Sullivan Road who want to help us expand our fast-growing business.

  • Home every weekend
  • Maximum 2-3 nights a week away from home

 

Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled deliveries and pickups
  • Perform and log daily truck and/or trailer inspections before departure and end of the day
  • Document the freight’s condition before departure and proof of delivery
  • Log hours of service, distance driven, rest stop durations, all fuel, and expenses
  • Communicate any delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to dispatch
  • Load and unload materials
  • Ensure load securement, including the installation of corner boards to protect products while in transport
  • Match shipments to sales invoices and inventorying loads
  • Use Samsara to ensure compliance, safety, efficiency, and customer service
  • Comply with Federal (FMCSA) and State (DOT) trucking rules and regulations Job

 

Requirements

  • Passionate about excellent service & teamwork
  • 3+ years of driving experience preferred
  • Dedicated to safety, on and off the road
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Class A license and acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Experience in the construction/roofing business is an asset
  • Ability to drive trucks with a manual transmission
  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
  • Able to complete job tasks such as climbing ladders, pulling and throwing tarps, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to work long, irregular hours and remain focused throughout
  • Pride in being on time, self-sufficient, and able to provide knowledgeable, excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws that regulate the road freight transport industry
